Atakan primarily focuses his practice on complex commercial and civil rights litigation.

His commercial litigation work includes representing clients in the construction industry in cross-border matters and working with prominent American and British law firms as co-counsel.

In civil rights litigation, Atakan has represented clients in matters related to fair trial rights, liberty and security rights, and privacy rights before the European Court of Human Rights and the Turkish Constitutional Court. He has also completed work placements with leading international human rights organizations in London and Amsterdam.

He has extensive knowledge of the emerging field of business and human rights, which includes the implementation of the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business & Human Rights at large enterprises. He also conducts human rights due diligence and risk assessment.

Atakan has practical experience in business and human rights, including conducting human rights due diligence and risk assessment. Additionally, he has a strong understanding of public international law, having represented diplomatic missions of foreign states in Turkey on matters concerning sovereign immunity and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
