Data Subject Requests: The Authority Clarifies Response and Notification Requirements
On 1 October 2026, the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority clarified that final responses to data subject requests must be provided in writing or electronically. Verbal communications, including phone calls or face-to-face explanations, may support the process but cannot replace the formal response. Data controllers should ensure responses are timely, properly documented, clear, and capable of subsequent verification where necessary.

Telefon görüşmeleri veya yüz yüze bilgilendirmeler süreci desteklemek amacıyla kullanılabilse de resmi cevabın yerini alamaz. Veri sorumlularının cevapların süresinde, açık, belgelendirilebilir ve gerektiğinde sonradan doğrulanabilir şekilde iletilmesini sağlamaları önem taşımaktadır.

Turkish Food Codex Regulation on Flavourings: A New Framework for the Food Sector Introduction
The new Regulation, published on 14 September 2026, comprehensively regulates the use, authorisation, production, labelling and notification requirements applicable to flavourings and food ingredients with flavouring properties. It introduces restrictions on source materials, limits on use and specific transitional provisions. Food business operators are required to review their products, supply chains, production processes and labelling practices and ensure compliance with the new requirements by 31 December 2026.

14 Eylül 2026’da yayımlanan yeni Yönetmelik, aroma vericiler ve aroma özelliği taşıyan gıda bileşenlerinin kullanım, izin, üretim, etiketleme ve bildirim esaslarını kapsamlı biçimde düzenlemektedir. Düzenleme; kaynak materyal kısıtlamaları, kullanım limitleri ve özel geçiş kuralları getirmektedir. Gıda işletmelerinin ürün, tedarik, üretim ve etiket süreçlerini gözden geçirerek 31 Aralık 2026’ya kadar yeni hükümlere uyum sağlaması gerekmektedir.
