Obituary: Orcun Cetinkaya

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we must announce the passing of our friend and partner, Orcun Cetinkaya.

Orcun had an instinct for building consensus. He could identify a pathway through any challenge, simplifying difficult problems that others felt were insurmountable. People looked to him for advice knowing that his solutions were always positive, calming, and ultimately the right thing to do. His vibrant character, sense of humor, diligence, and willingness to help those around him made him a valuable business partner, a trusted leader, a worthy friend, and an inspiration to all around him.

In a 20-year career, Orcun specialized in Commercial Dispute Resolution and was recognized as one of Turkey’s leading dispute resolution experts for a decade. He was recommended as a top-ranked and leading individual in the Legal 500 EMEA, Chambers and Partners Europe and Global, Who’s Who Legal, Benchmark Litigation, Best Lawyers, and by the Client Choice Awards.

Orcun practiced law at top-tier law firms in Turkey, where he gained his reputation as a formidable advocate. Along with six partners, he incorporated CBC Law Attorneys at Law in 2020, bringing together a group of like-minded and highly experienced legal specialists, who established CBC Law as a top-tier firm in Turkey.

The firm is working together, with full support to each other, to get through this unexpected tragedy. Our firm of six partners and more than 30 lawyers will continue to follow the example that Orcun Cetinkaya has set, together with our founding principles as a firm. We will also continue to provide excellent service and support for our cherished clients and colleagues.
